4/29/19 – Monday
Today I drove around the local community and visited various stores, restaurants, and shops to distribute pamphlets and other Life Goes On materials. This type of work connects to what a regional coordinator would do. I focused on my local community because that’s where I wanted to make an impact and inform the people of the importance of Organ and Tissue Donation. These are just a few of the businesses I visited. Overall, it was a very exciting experience being able to drive around my local community and distribute my materials. I was able to converse with adults, meet new people and establish new relationships, as well as experience going door to door. I also experienced rejection, which I know is common. One place in particular was a gas station, who kicked me out the minute I walked in with pamphlets in my hand (I’ll leave the person anonymous). I truly believed that this experience helped me learn many life-long valuable skills.
